Clever Makeup Tips for a Fast and Perfect Makeup Touch up

We know how annoying it is when makeup slips, fades, and smudges throughout the day.

A quick touch-up is all it takes to beautifully revive your makeup, but how do you go about it without messing up what you already have?

Step by Step Guide to Perfect Makeup Touch ups

  • Lightly dab away the excess oil with a tissue or oil-blotting papers (especially if you have oily skin). For an even longer lasting oil absorption effect, lightly pat Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish (or any matte finish translucent powder) over oily areas (yes, this can go over foundation). Do this before you do anything else.
  • If you have an extra minute, remove all of your lipstick so you can start over after you have touched up your face makeup. Apply a light layer of lip balm if lips feel dry.
  • Once the excess oil on your skin has been absorbed, use a fresh sponge to smooth out the foundation and blush. Use a gentle buffing motion, making sure to smooth things as you go but not rubbing off all of your makeup.

  • Apply a little extra concealer under the eyes if that area looks a bit dark.
  • If the coverage from your foundation or concealer has worn off over blemishes or discolorations, reapply and blend on those areas, making sure to avoid your blush.
  • Dust on a light layer of pressed powder over the face. A pressed powder with an SPF 15 that includes the UVA-protecting ingredients avobenzone, titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide is an excellent option to ensure added sun protection all day.
  • Apply more blush if needed, but only if needed, and be careful– blush grabs on more easily over makeup that has been on the face awhile.
  • Touch up eyeliner with a powder shadow, particularly under the eyes where it may have smeared. Use the corner or side of your makeup sponge to remove any evidence of smeared eyeliner.
  • If your eyeshadow tends to crease throughout the day, blot the area gently with a tissue or blotting paper and then use a brush to smooth out the color. Apply a powder over the area to even out the shadows and add whatever color is needed to make your eye makeup look balanced.
  • Finally, reapply your lipliner and lipstick.

As you can see, the above touch up routine may take a few minutes. If you are in a hurry, you can refresh your face in simple 4 steps that take seconds. Watch the video by Beauty Broadcast to learn from the pros:
